Autumn, Woodland Series – a contemporary landscape painting.
Autumn is part of Ingrid’s Woodland Series. A contemporary landscape in mixed media painted onto a beautiful heavyweight cotton watercolour paper. It is supplied in a beautiful 440mm x 310mm frame with a conservation grade mount. The painting has a deckled edge giving it a lovely finish. A thin strip of unpainted watercolour paper has been retained between the image and the mount to really set off the painting.
The inspiration for my Woodland Series came from my daily dogs walks in the surrounding woodland close to my home within the national forest. I wanted to capture not only the beautiful changing colours throughout the year, but also the atmosphere and feelings each season evoked. From the new shoots in spring, the brighter days of summer, to the wonderful warm rich colours of autumn and then to the bare canopy of winter.
